Orderd this because it was the only oneliswted as 48 inch size as my fire pit is 46 inches across. Fits perfectly but the material is crap. It wore through after ony one week of being out in the weather and then started to tear around the perimeter. Material is cheap so sewing it back up was not an option. Would not by this brand again.

Fantastic for pit cover!!!!! Much better than the cheap ones that come with the fire pit. Took two months to get it but it was worth the wait. The material is very durable and will past for a long time.

I just received this, so don’t have any personal encounter with its durability. I’ll add more after we’ve had it for a while.
The cover appears nice and well-made. I was looking for a black cover, as I can’t imagine trying to keep a tan cover looking clean when I’m putting it over a sooty fire pit.
I wanted one that was water-resistant, but also that would hold up in the sun. PVC is excellent for being water-resistant — but PVC is notorious for breaking down in sunlight. On this one, polyester canvas is backed by PVC. With luck, the polyester will extend the life of the PVC and this cover will last more than one season (or half a season as was the case with the “deluxe cover” that came with our fire pit).
There is medium-heavy elastic on the bottom edge. It is stitched on, not encased in fabric. On each side of the cover, about 3 inches from the bottom, are loops of wide Velcro (I’m guessing 1-1/2 inches wide, but didn’t measure it) that can go around two of the legs on the fire pit. Where we live, these will be really vital to keep it from blowing away in strong winds or thunderstorms (we get some 50 mph gusts on occasion). From past encounter, the elastic or drawstring around the bottom just isn’t enough by itself — and it’s no fun to be out chasing down a blowing cover in a storm!
I’ll add some durability info after we’ve had the cover for a while.
